Floorvyn PRIME 100 is an epoxy floor primer made for concrete and cement screed floors. It is the first coat in every Floorvyn system, and most floor failures we are called to fix in Karachi go back to this step being skipped or done in a hurry. A good epoxy floor primer is what keeps the top coat on the floor for years instead of months.

Why the Right Epoxy Floor Primer Matters
Bare concrete is full of tiny pores and loose surface dust. If you roll a coating straight on top, it sits on that weak layer and starts lifting at the edges, around drains and under forklift wheels. PRIME 100 has a low viscosity, so it runs into the pores, binds the loose top layer and cures into a firm base.
It also seals the slab. That cuts down air bubbles and pinholes in the next coat, because air trapped in the concrete has nowhere to push up.
Key Features
- Deep penetration: soaks into the concrete instead of sitting on top.
- Strong adhesion: creates a solid bond for epoxy, self-leveling and PU coats.
- Strengthens the surface: binds dusty, weak top layers on older slabs.
- Fast drying: the next coat can usually follow the same day or the next, depending on site temperature.
- Two-pack system: resin and hardener are supplied as a matched 20 kg kit.
Where to Use This Epoxy Floor Primer
- Under EPX 200 industrial epoxy coating in factories and godowns
- Under SL 500 self-leveling epoxy in pharma, food and clean areas
- Showrooms, parking areas, basements and workshops
- Old concrete floors that are dusty or chalky after grinding
Surface Preparation
The concrete should be at least 28 days old, dry and free of oil, curing compound and old loose paint. We grind or shot-blast the floor to open the surface, fill cracks and vacuum all dust before priming. On ground-floor slabs we also check moisture, because damp concrete is one of the most common reasons coatings peel. You can read more about how epoxy resins cure and bond.
How It Is Applied
- Mix part A and part B fully with a slow-speed drill mixer.
- Pour in strips and spread with a squeegee, then back-roll for an even film.
- Give a second coat on very porous concrete if the first one soaks in completely.
- Apply the next Floorvyn coat within the recoat window given in the TDS.
Pack Size and Technical Data
PRIME 100 comes in a 20 kg kit. For the exact mixing ratio, coverage per kg and recoat time, see the technical data sheet (TDS) or WhatsApp us at 0332-8111360. Coverage depends a lot on how porous your floor is, so we usually confirm it after a site visit.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Most primer problems come from rushing. Priming a slab that is still damp, leaving dust in the pores after grinding, or mixing only half of the hardener will all weaken the bond. Another common mistake is waiting too long before the next coat. If the epoxy floor primer passes its recoat window, it has to be sanded before the top coat goes on.
Care After Priming
Keep people and dust off the primed floor until the next coat is applied. In Karachi’s humid months, plan the work so the primer is not left open overnight in damp air. If the floor gets dirty, clean it before coating rather than coating over the dirt.
Things to Check Before You Order
Measure the area in sq ft, note how old the concrete is and whether the floor is on the ground or an upper level. Tell us if there is any oil soaked into the slab. With these details we can work out how many kits of epoxy floor primer you need and which Floorvyn top coat suits the space.
Epoxy Floor Primer FAQs
Can I skip the primer and apply epoxy directly?
We do not recommend it. Without a primer the top coat bonds to loose dust, and it is far more likely to peel or bubble.
Does PRIME 100 work on old floors?
Yes, once the old floor is ground, cleaned and repaired. It is very useful on old, dusty slabs because it binds the weak surface.
How many coats of epoxy floor primer are needed?
Usually one. Very porous or old concrete may need a second coat so the surface is fully sealed before the top coat.
Do you also apply it?
Yes. Paint Point supplies the material and also offers a full epoxy floor coating service across Karachi, from surface preparation to the final coat.
