What is construction chemical application?
It is the use of specialist products — repair mortars, bonding agents, grouts, adhesives, sealants and waterproofing — to repair, strengthen, bond or protect concrete and masonry. These products only work as intended when the surface is prepared and the product is applied correctly, which is what our team does.
Can a damaged ceiling or column be repaired without rebuilding it?
In many cases, yes. Where concrete has cracked or fallen off because the steel inside has rusted, the damaged concrete is removed, the steel is treated, and the section is rebuilt with repair mortar. For serious structural damage, we recommend getting a structural engineer's opinion before repair.
Why do repairs on old concrete fall off?
Usually because the new material was not bonded properly to the old surface, or the old surface was dusty, loose or dry. Proper cleaning, wetting where required and a suitable bonding agent stop this from happening.
